Concrete Patio Contractors Near Me in Round Rock

Backyard patios poured for the way you use your yard: the table, the grill, the kids' bikes, and maybe a cover someday. Sloped away from the house and finished to stay comfortable in the heat.

Working in Round Rock, Georgetown, Cedar Park, Leander, Hutto, Pflugerville and Brushy Creek.

Poured Concrete Patio Planning Starts With How You'll Use It

The most common regret we hear is "we should have made it bigger." The second is "it's too hot to use in the afternoon." Both are easier to fix on paper than in concrete.

Plan the table plus chairs pulled out, plus a walkway around it. Square shapes work better than long narrow ones.

  • Grill and outdoor kitchen padCooking

Thicken the slab where a built-in kitchen will sit. Keep the grill out of the main path and away from siding.

Footings for pergola or roof posts poured now. On a west-facing yard, shade makes the patio usable in summer.

  • Broom or light colorKids · Pool · Shade

Lighter, textured surfaces stay cooler and grippier for bare feet.

Slope away from the water and the house, add a textured finish, and joint around the coping.

  • Path to the gateKids · Cooking

A strip from the patio to the side gate or trash cans keeps mud off the slab.

Patio size to concrete volume

Type rough measurements in feet. It does the math; it does not price the job.

224 sq ft at 4 in is about 2.8 cubic yards; with a 10% overage for uneven base and spillage, plan on about 3.0 yd³.

Most patios are 4 in thick; thicker where an outdoor kitchen or hot tub will sit. Volume only, not a price.

Paved Concrete Patios on Blackland Clay

East of I-35, the soil under your yard is likely clay that cracks open in dry spells and swells when it rains. The NRCS describes Houston Black clay with dry-season cracks up to 4 inches wide that stay open for months. A patio sitting on that needs:

  • A real base. Topsoil out, compacted select fill in.
  • Slope away from the house. Water that sits at the foundation feeds the clay.
  • Downspouts redirected. Don't let a gutter dump onto the edge of the slab.
  • Joints planned with the pattern. So movement shows up at the joints and not as random cracks.

West of I-35, the issue is usually rock and slope instead: leveling a sloping yard may call for a step or a short retaining wall.

Deck Patio Builders vs. a Concrete Patio Contractor

If you're choosing between a wood or composite deck and a concrete patio, here's how it usually plays out on a Round Rock lot:

If a deck is the better answer, we'll tell you. We're not a deck patio contractor and don't build decks.

Concrete Patio Questions, Answered for Round Rock Yards

What does a poured concrete patio cost?

Size, access to the backyard, any tear-out, thickness, and finish drive the price. A patio behind a fence with no truck access may need a pump, and that's often the biggest variable. "Pressed concrete patio cost" (pressed is another word for stamped) adds the decorative labor. We price from a site visit and itemize it in writing.

How big should my patio be?

Measure the furniture you actually own and add walking room. A dining table for six with chairs pulled out needs roughly a 12 x 12 ft area by itself, and a grill needs space to stand back from it. The calculator above turns your measurements into concrete volume.

Can a patio go right up against the house?

Yes, with an isolation joint at the house and the slab sloped away from the foundation. Slope matters a lot on Blackland clay, where water soaking in next to a foundation can make the soil swell.

Can I put a pergola or patio cover on it later?

Tell us before we pour. Posts carrying a roof need footings or thickened slab sections (more on slabs and footings), and it's much cheaper to build those in now. We work with your cover builder on post locations.

Do you repair or seal old patios?

Yes. Concrete patio repair and sealing are covered on our repair page, and refinishing a worn patio is on the resurfacing page.

Do you build wood decks or screen rooms?

No. We pour the slab that a deck builder, pergola builder or screen-room company builds on. We're happy to coordinate with them, but we don't do carpentry or patio screen repair.

Plan Your Concrete Patio On Site

Tell us what you're thinking about and roughly where the property is. We'll come look, ask a few questions about drainage and use, and send the scope in writing.

    • No charge for the visit or the written scope.
    • Photos help us show up with the right questions.
    • If the job is outside what we do, we'll say so.
